New Opportunities

Special Forces, my friends, my extended family for over the past 2 years. Some of you have been here from the start when Druids were our only members. Many joined since we diversified and today the Special Forces stand as one of the largest casual wow guilds in the game. To be casual and yet to have accomplished all that we have, is truly a testament to what SF is all about.

Now for Pesce. He will leave the guild. This decision was one of the hardest I’ve had to make in the game. First, let me tell you why I decided to leave and where I’m going. Then, I will explain how I foresee the Special Forces working in the future.

Why? It’s time for Pesce to see higher end game content. Running a guild takes allot of time, but it has been time that I have enjoyed. I created the Special Forces because I did not want to be a part of a hardcore raiding guild that absorbed all my free time and demanded even more. I was in two other guilds prior to SF, and both were a pain in the ass to me. SF has brought the game balance that I wanted, and that is good. Now, it is time for Pesce to see other places. Kara, Gruul, and even Megtherdon, do not drop the gear that will give Pesce anything better than what I currently have.

Where? Dragon Army. Original creators and leaders of Invictus took the SF concept and gave it steroids. I’ve done allot of research and DA, as well as their leaders, carry much of the same beliefs that I tried implanting into Special Forces. They are obviously doing it at a much higher level. Do I feel SF would eventually get to the same place? Absolutely, however, we still have a long ways to go. I’m hoping the new and continued leadership of SF will take it to a level that I personally don’t think I can get us to.

SF Future? I will transfer guild ownership to my alt, Deminisher, and will raise the following folks to Officer Rank (Rear Admiral). Murder, Zeroghost, Monkeyy, Xrtm, Orso. They will join our current Officers; Lohi, Castwalter, Ruvicious, Bansman, Vrie, and Zalf. This will give them full authority within the guild. Use the Special Forces as a channel to gear-up and move forward. It is a respected name on our server, has been around for a long time, and can be a beacon to others who are not yet ready for the DA type places, but are looking for its younger brother. Could SF get larger than all the rest? Absolutely, but I don’t see myself having the energy or the time to do that. It took all I could give to get us ranked in the Top 50 guilds on our server. We currently rank #38, and growing. New leaders must grow it, nurture it, respect it, and govern it. All I ask is that your leadership follows some of what I tried to instill:

· Accept people for their differences
· Excuse them their little quirks (we all have them)
· Enjoy them as they are
· Teach them as you have been taught
· Reprimand lightly
· Praise heavily

I not only use this philosophy within the game, it is how I manage all my RL businesses, and how I was taught by other men I respect to this day. It is a method that can help you in all your earthly endeavors.

The guild Vault, Web Site, Guild Portal, Guild Ventrilo, will all remain with Special Forces. Use them for your pleasure. Don’t be surprised if you see/hear me on vent from time to time. I will continue to update the portal and web site.

Will Pesce ever come back to SF? No. From what I have seen, DA is the type of place Pesce needs. I obviously have strong feelings on how I think people should be treated, and will voice them if and when necessary, but as long as DA leadership acts in ways that are honorable and humane, Pesce will live out his days within their organization.

Dragon Army is high end content. They no longer run Kara, Gruuls, etc. In this vein, Pesce and possibly some of the new friends I meet may be available from time to time to help SF members get thru some of the tougher raids for gear. No promises, but you know I will try when I can.

Dragon Army is an adult only guild and has some strict application acceptance rules. If I could take all of you with me, I would. Use the Special Forces as a means to move-up into higher end-game content. As I get more acclimated into DA I can foresee where Special Forces could be utilized as a farm team to them, where their alts and others gear-up, and I will work to help make it happen. Wrath of the Litch King will redefine how guilds act and function and this could be an opportune time to form alliances of this nature. Don’t abandon ship. Take the wheel, hoist the sails, and steer Special Forces into the future. You truly will not find a better guild set-up.

I will not say farewell, instead I say, I’ll cya round. We will have fun together some more. Moreover, I truly expect to be dieing with y’all well into the future.

Sincerely and respectfully,
Pesce - CrazyFnBird
